The children and young people have enjoyed the good weather throughout the week and taken part in a variety of activities as always.
Yippee playscheme for children aged 5-11 years with disabilities welcomed 107 attendances from 51 children over four days. They went on a trip to Tilgate Park, where they were fascinated by an exclusive ‘Meet the animals’ session and then had the chance to burn off some energy in the playground. The children have also been on a scavenger hunt and had a go at many different sports and games.

Our Yippee and Yip4Youth holiday schemes, based at the YMCA Sovereign Centre in Slipshatch Road, Reigate, had a packed schedule of Easter activities.
We provided specialist one to one care for 40% of the children and young people with disabilities who attended and were ably supported by an enthusiastic team of volunteer playworkers. The holiday schemes took place over 9 days, with 6 hours of Easter themed activities and outings into the community per day.

‘Don’t Lose the Plot’ is YMCA East Surrey’s horticultural project working with young people who have additional needs aged between 14-20 in the local area.
We have an allotment in Redhill where we grow fruit, vegetables and flowers, teaching young people about the health benefits of growing your own. We also work with Reigate and Banstead council, gardening in local parks and assisting on allotment clearings.
