This half term YMCA East Surrey offered an average of 33 spaces per day at the Sovereign Centre on their Yippee and Yip4Youth schemes for children and young people with disabilities. This totalled just under 1,000 hours of short break care across the week, providing support to a huge number of local families.

Yippee ran a variety of fantastic activities for children with disabilities aged 5-11, making beautiful Valentine’s Day cards and cookies for their wonderful parents and carers, taking a trip to the Look Out Discovery Centre in Guildford and enjoying a visit from Crazy Colin’s Magic Show!

Yip4Youth, for young people with disabilities aged 12-18, explored the fantastically inclusive Science Museum in London and enjoyed many varied centre-based activities, such as disability sports and Valentine’s Day crafts.

Yippee After School club were also delighted this week to receive new water bottles, donated to the YMCA Sovereign Centre by Tesco  at Hookwood, a regular and valued supporter of YMCA East Surrey.
