Job Purpose: To work with young people who have complex needs and disabilities across Surrey. The clubs run during the school term time and during the school holidays. The main purpose of these clubs is to provide short breaks for families with children aged 12-18 who have complex needs and disabilities.
Posts are based at sites across East Surrey and West Sussex including:
- Reigate & Banstead, (YMCA Sovereign Centre, Reigate)
- Tandridge, (venue tbc)
- Mole Valley, (St John’s School, Dorking)
- Epsom & Ewell, (Linden Bridge School, Worcester Park)
- Crawley (Desmond Anderson & Manor Green Schools)

Hours of work
As and when required (casual) or contracted hours positions are available. This will be discussed at interview.
Hours vary by site, but as a guide our sessions run:
Buddies | Tuesdays & Thursdays | 16:45 – 20:15
Yip4Youth | Saturdays | 09:30 – 16:30
Yip4Youth | Monday to Friday | 09:30 – 16:30
Pay Rate & Benefits
£5.94 per hour for under 18’s (must be over 16)
£8.17 per hour for 18-24 year olds
£8.40 per hour for over 25’s
Hourly rates include 12.07% holiday pay
Free parking is available at all YMCA East Surrey sites. If you consistently undertake a regular shift, you will also be entitled to free gym membership at the YMCA Fitness Centre in Redhill.
£5.30 per hour for under 18’s
£7.29 per hour for 18-24 year olds
£7.50 per hour for over 25’s
Contracted staff receive 4 weeks’ annual leave plus bank holidays (pro–rata). The holiday year runs from 1 April – 31 March. An incremental increase applies with service and commences after 2 years completed service. A maximum of 5 weeks’ annual leave plus bank holidays (pro-rata) is available after 6 years’ service.
