Y2Y North Downs Marathon Trek
Sunday 12 March 2017

Online bookings have now closed for this event as we are close to capacity. If you would like to take part, please contact the Challenge Team on 01737 779979.

The 11th Y2Y North Downs Trek will follow the North Downs Way along the beautiful Surrey countryside. The 26.2 mile Marathon starts at the YMCA in Guildford, the 13.1 mile Half Marathon at a new starting point of Ranmore Common with both finishing at YMCA East Surrey in Redhill. Each distance is well marked with stunning views, undulating landscapes and occasional challenging hills.

New for 2017 – This year for the first time there is a 5 mile option which starts at Pilgrim’s Way in Reigate and finishes again at the YMCA in Redhill.

Walk it, run it or both, but don’t miss it! You are driven to your starting point from YMCA East Surrey by our volunteer support crew and can enjoy free refreshments at checkpoints en route. Experienced leaders/backmarkers provide navigational support and everyone receives a commemorative medal, laminated route cards and technical t-shirt. Free parking, showers and refreshments available at the finish.

We will be organising a variety of training walks and runs to help you get ready for this event. Details of 2017 training programme will be available later in the year.

If you fancy an even bigger walking challenge, why not take on the Three Peaks Challenge!

Or try our Souths Downs Trek 26.mile walk over the beautiful coastline of the South Coast.

Money raised from all our events will help us create a brand new, disability sports, fitness and wellbeing facility, designed to inspire and support people of all ages and ability to be more active and healthy.

This will be a centre of excellence for families, those suffering from learning and physical disabilities, people with emotional and mental health issues, the elderly and people recovering from chronic illness. The purpose-built, fully accessible facility will offer a wide programme of disability sports, rehabilitation and preventative health activities, delivered by specialist, friendly staff and inspiring volunteers. Our aim is to create a wonderful culture of inclusivity, where everyone feels welcome and is empowered to create healthy, active and fulfilling lives.

There is no minimum sponsorship for this event, but we hope you will be inspired by what we are planning to build and raise as much as you can. Our specialist team is on hand to help you every step of the way and remember every penny you raise will help make a difference to a life in the community.

The best way to fundraise is to set up your unique Virginmoneygiving fundraising page. If you prefer the more traditional method of fundraising, please download your official sponsorship form. Alternatively, you can make a donation to YMCA East Surrey to help fund this important community facility.
