Exciting activities for young people aged 13-18 with disabilities
The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award (DofE) is a worldwide recognised qualification that enables young people to gain new skills, push themselves physically, help others and explore new territories.
The DofE focuses on four key elements. Young people will be given the opportunity to work towards each element within the safety of the YMCA Sovereign centre or can access activities outside the centre if more suitable.
Young people will also prepare their own meal each week to gain life skills.
The components that make up the DofE are:
- Volunteering
- Skills
- Physical activity
