YMCA East Surrey is committed to monitoring and following government advice, together with that of professional bodies we work with. The wellbeing of our communities, visitors and staff is our absolute priority and we ask for your co-operation by following the latest government guidance if you or a member of your household show any symptoms of coronavirus (COVID-19).

Whilst wearing a face mask is no longer a legal requirement, we do ask that you continue to do so in our communal areas to help protect some of our more vulnerable members.

We will publish updates on this webpage and on our social media channels if there are any changes to services and notify users directly by email, where possible.

Please follow us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram for the latest updates.

Health & Wellbeing

Our gym and fitness classes are open! View our group exercise timetable here.
With the latest easing of restrictions, we are putting in place the measures below to ensure we continue our safe return of activity.

Masks
We request that all service users continue to wear face coverings in public areas to protect themselves, those around them and our many vulnerable users.
Some YMCA East Surrey activities carry a higher risk or involve particularly vulnerable groups; these activities will be individually risk assessed and there may be a requirement for service users to wear a face-covering if they want to participate (unless exempt). Mainstream and Exercise Referral Classes do not fall into this category.

Social Distancing
We request that users continue to follow the two metre rule where possible but one-way systems will be removed.
Only the users (including carers for those with a disability) of our services and activities are to enter the building.

Showers
Our showers in the changing rooms will open and can be used from 08:00 Monday.

Cleaning
We will continue with our levels of cleaning introduced for Covid-19 and ask users to continue to use the cleaning products provided to wipe down all equipment they use.

Exercise Referral – Exercise Referral gym sessions and classes are running in person at our centre. We are continuing to run online Exercise Referral classes for those who are not yet ready to return to in-person classes.

Coronavirus (COVID-19) risk assessments

We are committed to providing a safe and welcoming environment at each of our centres. We have completed coronavirus (COVID-19) specific risk assessments at each site and put in place appropriate actions to manage the risks identified. This is an ongoing priority for us and these risks assessments will be reviewed regularly to ensure that we are complying with government guidance to minimise transmission risk.
