YMCA East Surrey is committed to monitoring and following government advice, together with that of professional bodies we work with. The wellbeing of our communities, visitors and staff is our absolute priority and we ask for your co-operation by following the latest government guidance if you or a member of your household show any symptoms of coronavirus (COVID-19) and wearing a face mask in all public communal areas.
Health & Wellbeing
Further to the recent government announcement, we will be reopening our gym on Monday 12 April (public health data permitting).
Group exercise classes are currently scheduled to resume on Monday 17 May at the earliest. In the meantime, you can visit our Health & Wellbeing page to find out about our popular free virtual class programme through Zoom and Facebook Live.
We will maintain the same high social distancing and hygiene stands as before so you can be assured you are returning to a COVID-secure environment.
Please be assured your memberships remain frozen whilst our centre is closed and we will write to all members directly in the lead up to reopening.
In the meantime, please continue to look to our social media and the information on this page for further updates.
We are really looking forward to welcoming you all back again. Stay safe and well!

Our charitable work during the COVID-19 pandemic
The YMCA has been working in East Surrey for 150 years and we will continue to do so. We have worked hard to keep as many of our services running as possible, throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.
As a charity, like all organisations, this has a huge impact financially. If you can help us to support these projects, we would be very grateful if you would consider donating to our work.
Coronavirus (COVID-19) risk assessments
We are committed to providing a safe and welcoming environment at each of our centres. We have completed coronavirus (COVID-19) specific risk assessments at each site and put in place appropriate actions to manage the risks identified. This is an ongoing priority for us and these risks assessments will be reviewed regularly to ensure that we are complying with government guidance to minimise transmission risk.
