Chase the Sun
Saturday 22 – Sunday 23 June 2019
A unique team cycling challenge cycle – the longest day, from sunrise to sunset, coast to coast, east to west, 205 miles in 17 hours. This year the YMCA is supporting corporate teams to take on this epic adventure.
Chase the Sun is a mass participation national event organised by volunteers that attracts over 600 riders from across Britain. Many riders choose to use the event to raise money for charities and YMCA East Surrey are hoping you will join us to help support young people facing emotional wellbeing issues. Although the actual event is free the YMCA is charging £149 per person to cover transport, refreshments, accommodation, bespoke cycle shirt and support stops.
We give you…

- Transport to start
- One night’s accommodation at finish
- Transport home
- Full catering and broom wagon support en route
- Free induction in our fully equipped air conditioned gym

You give us…
- £149 entry fee
- Pledge to raise money for our youth counselling projects across East Surrey
This year, all money raised from the YMCA Chase the Sun cycle event will go directly to support young people who are suffering with mental health issues. YMCA East Surrey Heads Together provides a free and confidential counselling service for young people aged 14 -24. We help over 600 individuals every year in East Surrey to deal with issues such as: sadness, depression, unhappiness and when life doesn’t seem worth living. Qualified YMCA counsellors help young people overcome issues such as bereavement, experience of abuse, self-harm or substance misuse.
Please help us keep this vital service going by taking part in Chase the Sun.
