Disability Play/Youth Leader (part-time) | Across Surrey and West Sussex

Are you either working toward or are already qualified at level 2 or 3 in child care or youth work? Are you passionate about working with children and young people with disabilities? If so, we could have a role for you! Working and/or either Saturdays 09:00-17:00 during term time or Monday to Friday 09:00-17:00 during school holidays.

Job purpose: YMCA East Surrey is looking to recruit an experienced and motivated individual to deliver stimulating and exciting short breaks services for children with complex needs and disabilities during school holidays and Saturday’s term time. Short breaks services provide children with disabilities enjoyable experiences away from their primary carers, which contributes to their personal and social development and reduces social isolation. You will be responsible for safely delivering the Short Break school holiday and/or Saturday club, with the support from the senior disability co-ordinator.

Hours of work: Saturdays 09:00 – 17:00 (Term time only) and/or Monday – Friday during school holidays 09:00 – 17:00 for up to 12 weeks of the year

Location: Reigate, Surrey

Salary / pay rate: £13.37 per hour

Annual leave: Four weeks (pro-rata) plus bank holidays. This is to be discussed at interview. Holidays increase after two years service to a maximum of five weeks pro-rata after six years service. The holiday year runs from 1 April to 31 March each year.
