Youth Counsellor (part time) | East Surrey

YMCA East Surrey are expanding their counselling provision and are recruiting level 4 qualified counsellors to deliver in person and by Zoom, therapy sessions.

The ideal candidates will have a minimum of a Diploma (Level 4) in counselling (any theoretical orientation) or equivalent, as well as being a Registered Member of an accredited body, such as BACP or BABCP, an accredited member or working towards your accreditation. In addition, you will have experience of working with children from age 11 within a professional context.

 

Job purpose: The role will be to provide counselling support, therapy/triage assessments and deliver therapy sessions either in person or via Zoom or telephone. The majority of our counselling clients are aged 11-24 although we occasionally work with adults over the age of 24.

Hours of work: 21 hours per week over 3 days, 10:00 - 18:00

Location: The role with be based from either YMCA Hillbrook House, Redhill or Phoenix Youth Centre, Tadworth

Salary / pay rate: £24,000 - £26,000 per annum FTE depending on experience and qualifications

Annual leave: Four weeks (pro-rata) plus bank holidays. Holidays increase after two years service to a maximum of five weeks pro-rata after six years service. The holiday year runs from 1 April to 31 March each year.
