YMCA East Surrey and Raven Housing Trust are working in partnership to deliver a high quality One-to-One Mentoring offer for young people throughout the borough of Epsom and Ewell helping to build resilience and employability skills.
The programme combines an integrated package of mentoring, workshops, counselling and residentials delivered by qualified professionals. We support young people across the whole borough, with a special focus on those living in the neighbourhoods of Longmead and Watersedge.
We accept referrals from YSS and Early Help who have identified young people in need of support, either to reduce escalation of need or to support those stepping down from intensive support into universal services.
The service consists of the following individual elements all designed to complement the Early Help Strategy:
- One-to-One Mentoring
- Intervention Workshops
- Rapid Response Counselling
All young people referred to the project will initially undergo 12 weekly sessions of One-to-One Mentoring. The sessions are delivered by experienced and qualified youth workers who are skilled at engaging with young people who may be reluctant to take part. The young person and youth worker prepare a personal plan, addressing the areas of development identified and agree what experience, learning and empowerment is required to meet these needs.
