Kim's Walk

Join us for a fundraising walk on Sunday 13 September through the Surrey countryside to remember our dear colleague Kim Roderick who sadly passed away in September 2022. Kim was at the heart of YMCA East Surrey and those who knew her will never forget her wit, warm nature and hard work.

This walk is open to all who would like to support the YMCA’s work in her memory, even if you didn’t know Kim personally.

This event is open to participants aged 16+.

Fundraise for us!

Whilst there is no set fundraising target for this event, we ask that you consider fundraising to support our Life Change Fund, which was set up by Kim, to support our work transforming young lives in East Surrey.

In 2026, we are aiming to raise £70,000 through our Life Change Fund to transform our new supported housing development in Salfords into a real home for 14 young people facing homelessness. Your fundraising will provide essential items such as bedding, furniture and kitchen equipment to make young residents feel safe and valued. £2,000 will kit out a young person’s bedroom. By fundraising for us, you’re helping to give vulnerable young people a fresh start and the chance to build a brighter future.

Join us in making a difference and creating a brighter future for young people by setting up a fundraising page or making a donation.

Set up a JustGiving fundraising page by clicking the button below, or if you prefer the more traditional method of fundraising, please download an official sponsorship form.

Read more about our tips on fundraising or speak to a member of our Events team who will be more than happy to help you with ideas.
