Life Change Fund

Transforming young lives in East Surrey

Our Life Change Fund was set up in 2021 to raise funds for projects to help young people get their lives back on track following the impact of COVID-19.

The fund supports a range of YMCA services and projects to address these needs and help young people build the resilience, belief, and confidence to overcome the challenges they face. In the past, this has enabled us to purchase our mobile youth bus (Y Bus) and furnish a new semi-independent move-on property for young homeless people.

In 2026,  we are aiming to raise £70,000 through our Challenge Events to transform our new supported housing development in Salfords into a real home for 14 young people facing homelessness. The build cost has been supported by Reigate & Banstead Borough Council, Homes England and Netherby Trust. Your fundraising will provide essential items such as bedding, furniture and kitchen equipment to make young residents feel safe and valued. £2,000 will kit out a young person’s bedroom. By fundraising for us, you’re helping to give vulnerable young people a fresh start and the chance to build a brighter future.

Help to build a brighter future for young people

Last year, with your help, we raised £80,000 towards refurbishment costs and furniture for individual bedrooms and communal areas at our new move-on accommodation for six young people in Redhill.

By taking on a challenge fundraising event or making a donation, you can help young people belong, contribute, and thrive through YMCA East Surrey’s charitable projects.

Your fundraising will help to support our charitable projects where funding is most needed. Whether through our youth work, housing, or counselling services, you can help to make a difference. Every penny will go towards helping young people in East Surrey to belong, contribute, and thrive. Thank you!
