When a child or young person is referred, a Wellbeing Coordinator will meet with them to help identify goals and achieve positive change through an outcome-based approach.
Support might include:
The Wellbeing Coordinator can support young people with a range of emotional and mental health challenges such as anxiety, low mood, emotion management, bullying, loss, self-esteem, body image, friendship and relationship issues, as well as many other concerns.
Meetings will take place somewhere where the young person feels comfortable, that could be at school, online, at a YMCA East Surrey centre or elsewhere in the local community.
We cover the following areas: Epsom & Ewell, Reigate & Banstead, Tandridge.
The Community Wellbeing Team receives requests for support through Mindworks Surrey. Requests come to this team from various sources including, GPs and other health professionals, schools and social care professionals.
We also accept direct referrals from other professionals, parents/carers and young people aged 16+, subject to a conversation with a member of the team first. If you would like to discuss making a referral, please email: communitywellbeingteam@ymcaeastsurrey.org.uk
We know how important it is for young people to feel confident they can trust their Wellbeing Coordinator. Nothing you tell us will be passed on to anyone outside the agency or our NHS partners, without your consent, unless we think that you or any other person will be in danger. Even then, we would try to talk to you about it first.
If you would like to know more about what we can offer or if you require some advice and signposting, please get in touch with us:
