Cuppa and Chat at Leatherhead Community Hub
Mondays (term-time only) | 9:30 – 11am

A chance for all families to drop in to the Leatherhead Community Hub and speak to our friendly team of Family Support Workers – no appointment needed. YMCA Mole Valley Family Centre can support you and your family in several different ways – by meeting one of our Family Support Workers, attending a friendly group or signposting you to a wealth of support in the local community.

Humingbirds at Leatherhead Community Hub
Mondays (term-time only)

Come and join our Toddler and Baby Groups for 0-3 year olds. The children can play, learn and explore through a variety of activities and toys. There’s free tea and coffee available too.

10-11:30am – Hummingbird Toddlers (Age 1-13)
12:30-2pm – Hummingbird Babies (Age 0-1)

Mondays | 1:30-3 pm

Run by the Perinatal Mental Health Service. Speak to your Perinatal Mental Health Nurse for more information.

Stay and Play
Tuesdays (term-time) | 10-11:30 am

A fun and welcoming stay and play group for parents and their pre-school children is run jointly by Home Start East Surrey and Mole Valley Family Centre.

Each week, the garden and playroom will be set up with activities to encourage exploration, curiosity and imagination. Staff will be on hand to support children and
parents as they learn and play together. We end each session with songs and rhymes. A warm welcome awaits you, where staff can offer guidance to support your parenting journey!

There will also be availability to discuss support if you feel that you need it, on a 1:1 basis. In some sessions, there will be Speech and Language support available. 

No need to book. We ask for a donation of £2 per family per week to help towards the costs of running the group.

Parenting Puzzle

This 10-week course helps parents of children aged 3-12 (but open to all ages), to understand and manage feelings and behaviour while becoming more positive and nurturing in their relationships with their children.
During the course, you will learn and practice different strategies designed to support positive parenting, such as praise and criticism, parenting styles, family rules, problem solving, negotiating and much more.

  • Venue: Mole Valley Family Centre, Goodwyns Road, Dorking, RH4 2LR
  • £30 – payable before the start of the 10-week course (includes course manual and refreshments)

Talking Teens

  • Would you like to improve your relationship with your teenager?
  • Is your child approaching the teen years?

Talking Teens is a 4-week course suitable for parents of children from Year 5 upwards. You will learn about adolescent brain development and be provided with ideas and strategies to maintain boundaries, improve communication, motivate and support young people.

Venue: Supported Learning Centre, The Ashcombe School, Ashcombe Road, Dorking, RH4 1LY
£15 – payable before the start of the course.
A reduced rate is available for any family on income-related benefits. Course manual and refreshments are provided.
