Stay and Play
Tuesdays (term-time) | 10:00-11:30

A fun and welcoming stay and play group for parents and their pre-school children is run jointly by Home Start East Surrey and Mole Valley Family Centre.

Each week, the garden and playroom will be set up with activities to encourage exploration, curiosity and imagination. Staff will be on hand to support children and
parents as they learn and play together. We end each session with songs and rhymes. A warm welcome awaits you, where staff can offer guidance to support your parenting journey!

No need to book. We ask for a donation of £2 per family per week to help towards the costs of running the group.

Speech & Language Stay and Play
Wednesdays | 09:30-13:00

A 5-week group for pre-school children to help with development of speech and language skills (talking, listening, understanding and interacting). We encourage parents/carers to attend the group for 5 weeks with their child.
Ideas and strategies to use at home will be provided. This course is run jointly by Speech and Language Therapy and Mole Valley Family Centre. Contact us for dates.

Child Health Drop In

Cuppa and Chat – parent drop in
Fridays | 09:30-11:00

A chance for all families to drop in to the Family Centre and speak to our friendly team of Family Support Workers – no appointment needed. YMCA Mole Valley Family Centre can support you and your family in several different ways – by meeting one of our Family Support Workers, attending a friendly group or signposting you to a wealth of support in the local community.

Parenting Puzzle

This 10-week course helps parents of children aged 3-12 (but open to all ages), to understand and manage feelings and behaviour while becoming more positive and nurturing in their relationships with their children.
During the course, you will learn and practice different strategies designed to support positive parenting, such as praise and criticism, parenting styles, family rules, problem solving, negotiating and much more.

• £30 – payable before the start of the 10-week course (includes course manual and refreshments)

Talking Teens

• Would you like to improve your relationship with your teenager?
• Is your child approaching the teen years?

Talking Teens is a 4-week course suitable for parents of children from Year 5 upwards. You will learn about adolescent brain development and be provided with ideas and strategies to maintain boundaries, improve communication, motivate and support young people.

Next start date: Wednesday 4 March (4 consecutive Wednesdays) | 19:00-21:00

Venue: Supported Learning Centre, The Ashcombe School, Ashcombe Road, Dorking, RH4 1LY
£15 – payable before the start of the course.
A reduced rate is available for any family on income-related benefits. Course manual and refreshments are provided.
