Friday 21 November 2025

Enjoy a lively night of Scottish Ceilidh (pronounced “kay-lee”) dancing while supporting YMCA East Surrey!

You don’t have to be Scottish and you don’t need to know what to do; a caller will explain the dances and there will be lots of friendly folk to give you a hand and get everyone up dancing. Think of it as a barn dance with a Scottish twist!

All funds raised will go directly towards supporting local projects through YMCA East Surrey’s Life Change Fund (see below).

Music will be provided by the fantastic Buchanan Ceilidh band.

  • Doors open at 19:00 for 19:30 start
  • £25 per person, includes chilli buffet and dessert table (dietary options catered for)
  • Bar & raffle available on the night (extra cost)
  • Dress code: smart/casual (checked shirts or tartan welcome!) and flat/non-marking shoes
  • Minimum age 16+

Three Peaks Challenge

Three Peaks Challenge

Thursday 18 – Sunday 21 June 2026

The Three Peaks Challenge is an attempt to climb the highest peaks in Scotland, England and Wales in ‘one go’. These peaks are:

  • Ben Nevis in Scotland | 1,345m (4,413ft)
  • Scafell Pike in England | 978m (3,209ft)
  • Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) in Wales | 1,085m (3,560ft)

Your three peaks challenge starts at the foot of Ben Nevis, in the spectacularly beautiful setting of the Scottish Highlands, before taking in Scafell Pike in the Lake District and finishing at the foot of Yr Wyddfa (Mt Snowdon) in North Wales. This challenge will see you tested to the limit as you ascend and descend the three mountains and we strongly recommend you take part in our free training walks.

Many teams aim to complete the challenge in 24 hours or less. It is a physically and mentally demanding team event that tests the best, but delivers a huge sense of achievement!
