Paris 3-2-1 Cycle Challenge

Paris 3-2-1 is our Redhill to Paris cycle challenge with a twist! The option of a 3, 2 or 1 day cycle and is suitable for all abilities especially those new to long distance cycling. The route covers 175 miles of quiet countryside starting at YMCA East Surrey in Redhill (London start option for 1 day ride), finishing at the Eiffel Tower, Paris via Newhaven and Gournay en Bray.

3-day option | Thursday 4 – Sunday 7 June 2026
Starting at the YMCA in Redhill on Thursday, you will leave at lunchtime and cycle 40 miles to Newhaven with a well-deserved tea stop at Lindfield. Following a night in a local hotel and after a hearty breakfast, you will make your way to the ferry port for the crossing over to Dieppe. On arrival at Dieppe, the support team will be ready to fill your bottles and bike bags with snacks to prepare you for your ride to Gournay en-Bray. A short tea stop along the Avenue Verte before arriving at a local hotel for dinner and a good night’s rest. The next morning, after breakfast, you will start your final day’s cycling to Paris along the beautiful, tranquil and traffic-free French countryside, cycle along the Seine before the final exhilarating ride through Paris towards your final destination, the Eiffel Tower! An evening of celebration in Paris will set you up for a leisurely morning discovering the sights before a relaxing journey back on Eurostar which arrives back in London late Sunday afternoon.  

2-day option | Friday 5 – Sunday 7 June 2026
It is early morning on Friday as you will begin your first stage to cycle to Newhaven in time to catch the morning  ferry to Dieppe. After a rest on the crossing before the next stage which sees you cycle through the French countryside to Gournay En Bray, where you will meet up with the 3-day team and enjoy an evening at a local hotel with dinner and a glass of wine. The rest of the experience will be the same as for the three-day option finishing at the Eiffel Tower, but will you get there before them?  

1-day option | Friday 5 – Sunday 7 June 2026
It is Friday evening and you have 24 hours to get to the Eiffel Tower! Your epic ride will start from the YMCA in Redhill at 18:00 (London start option available) as you head towards Newhaven to catch the evening ferry to Dieppe. A much-deserved rest on the boat will leave you refreshed and ready for your heart-racing 135-mile ride to Paris! Fast and furious, as you cycle through the French countryside, but what a feeling! You will have a designated support team with you to make sure you have all you need to get you to your final destination. Will you get there before the 3 and 2-day teams? Enjoy a well-deserved night of celebration in Paris and then the sights of Paris on Sunday morning after breakfast before a leisurely journey back on Eurostar which arrives back in London late afternoon.

Support

All options are fully supported by our friendly volunteer team who will provide picnic lunches, tea stops, snacks and refreshments along the way to make sure you have everything you need to complete your challenge.

We also offer full mechanical support, including tools and even a spare bike.

All bikes and luggage will be brought back by the team on Monday 8 June ready to collect from the YMCA Sports and Community Centre in Redhill.

Training

Join our free, friendly and fun cycling training sessions designed to give you the fitness and stamina you will need to achieve your goal. A variety of ride options will be available on each day to ensure that training rides are tailored to each event.  

Monthly Sunday morning and weekly Tuesday evening rides will start in 2026.

We would also encourage cyclists to join a cycle club, if not a member already where training sessions are available every week. The nearest one to us is Redhill Cycling Club.  Local club Team Cake also take regular social rides, information for which can be found on their Facebook Page.

Fundraise for us!

All money raised from our 2026 challenge events will go towards our Life Change Fund set up to help young people belong, contribute and thrive through YMCA East Surrey’s charitable projects.

The entry fee purely covers the cost of the event and our minimum sponsorship amount is £500pp to help young people belong, contribute and thrive through YMCA East Surrey’s charitable projects.
