Registrations are now closed, but you have until 31 December to complete your Santa Run if you are already registered.
Calling all Santas – the YMCA Santa Run is going virtual!
Due to the current restrictions, this year’s Santa Run will not be taking part in Priory Park on Sunday 6 December, but that doesn’t stop you putting on your Santa hat/beard, taking part, having some FUN and raising FUNDS for the YMCA throughout December.
Launch yourself into the festive season by completing a 1 or 3- mile run or walk anytime in December. This event is open to all ages and abilities – help us spread Christmas cheer in what has been a tough year for all of us.
Spread the social cheer
As this is a virtual event, we would love to see your amazing photos so don’t forget to tag us on socials, as well as uploading on your results page.
Tag us using the hashtag #YMCASantaRun and feel free to mention us @ymca_challenge (Twitter) and @YMCAChallenge (Facebook) so we can like and share.
If you’re on Strava, you can also join us there by joining the YMCA East Surrey Strava Club.
By sharing your photos and achievement, not only will this show everyone how well you did, but it will also bring smiles to people’s faces and get everyone into the Christmas spirit.
You can download the official 2019 YMCA Santa Run 1 and 3-miles routes below or if you prefer, choose any route you like, that is the joy of this event! You can run or walk around your area, in your garden or even indoors (might be a few stairs to climb though!). As long as you finish the mile (or three miles) – how you do it is up to you. Please ensure you follow the latest government social distancing guidelines when taking part.
Prizes will be awarded to the fastest male and female in the adult 3-mile race. Whilst there will be no prizes awarded to participants in the 1-mile, all entrants will be entered into the draw for a chance to win a Christmas Hamper.
All Santas completing their distance and raising a minimum of £10 will receive a congratulatory certificate. If you raise over £50, we will send you a bespoke YMCA bag of goodies!
This year, more than ever, any money you raise or donate will go a long way to help the lives of local people who are really struggling in 2020. With the new restrictions for winter, more and more people will be battling with their physical and emotional health as well as their financial worries; to combat this, here at the YMCA, we have a series of activities and programmes to help local children and young people in need get through this crisis. Together we can make this a Happy Christmas for everyone.
You can help by raising sponsorship or making a one-off donation:
