YMCA Fun Run and Sports Festival
Sunday 30 April 2023 | Priory Park, Reigate

Following a successful return in 2022, join us in 2023 for this inclusive running and sporting charity event to take part in the 1 mile (adults or juniors) or 5 mile (adults) Fun Run. With taster sessions and demonstrations from local sports clubs, a climbing wall, trampolines, bouncy castle and lots of event stalls – this is a perfect family day out for everyone to enjoy and try something new.

All money raised goes to YMCA East Surrey’s vital work supporting young people through homeless accommodation and youth interventions.

The YMCA Fun Run has races for adults and children of all abilities. The main aim is participation and we would like as many families as possible to join in on the day, whatever your fitness level!

The adult 5 mile race follows a loop on local lanes whilst the adult and junior 1 mile fun runs stay within the grounds of the beautiful Priory Park in Reigate. All participants receive an exclusive YMCA race technical t-shirt and commemorative medal.

Working in partnership with Reigate & Banstead Borough Council, there will be plenty of food and drinks stalls as well as bouncy castle and face painting. The Sports Festival welcomes lots of community sports clubs who will be offering free tasters of plenty of sports, with a central arena hosting displays from local dance, sports and gymnastics groups.

Help us to transform lives in East Surrey!

The Pandemic has been really tough for all young people but even more so for those who are vulnerable or disadvantaged. All money raised from our 2022 challenge events will go towards our new Life Change Fund. This fund will support a range of YMCA services, projects and programmes to address these needs and help young people build the resilience, belief and confidence to overcome the challenges they face.

Here are just a few of our projects that the Life Change Fund will support:

  • New £1.5m housing scheme in Horley for 12 young people aged 18+
  • New youth work offer reaching over 1,000 young people aged 11–19
  • New emotional wellbeing and mental health service supporting over 2,300 young people
  • YMCA Young Volunteers Project

Any amount you can raise will help to transform young lives in the local area, so please consider fundraising for us.

Routes

All races are well marshalled and start on the grass to the south of Reigate Priory School. The main adult race follows a 5 mile loop around country lanes to the west of Reigate before returning to the finish at the start point in Priory Park with a water station en route. The 1 Mile races use the same start and finish as the 5 mile but stay within the park following a flat route including a clockwise lap of the pond. Free refreshments are available for all runners.

Results

All races will be chip timed by Results Base and a link to the results will be published on this page on race day. Please note that results will be searchable by race number, name or club. Please contact challenge@ymcaeastsurrey.org.uk if you do not want your results to be displayed (or update the privacy settings in your Results Base profile).
