You don’t have to be fast (although there are prizes for those that are!), the main aim is getting the community out and taking part! The adult 5 mile race follows a loop on local lanes whilst the adult and junior 1 mile fun runs stay within the grounds of the beautiful Priory Park in Reigate.

All participants receive an exclusive YMCA race technical t-shirt and commemorative medal.

So gather your family, friends and colleagues and join us for a fun-filled day out in Priory Park. Whether you’re a seasoned runner or just looking for a fun day out, there’s something for everyone at the YMCA Fun Run & Sports Festival.

Sports Festival & Events Village

Working in partnership with Reigate & Banstead Borough Council, there will be plenty of food and drinks stalls as well as a climbing wall and soft archery with free access funded by the council. The Sports Festival welcomes local sports clubs who will be offering free tasters of their sports, with a central arena hosting displays – making this the perfect family day out for everyone to enjoy and try something new.

All children will receive an activity passport in their race number packs. Collect stamps by taking part in different sporting activities and you can collect a free prize on the day!

Our event village will be packed with food and drink stall serving tasty treats and refreshments.

Thanks to SES Water for providing free tap water from its custom-built tanker, The Quenchinator, enabling all runners and spectators to be able to refill their reusable bottles throughout the event.and reducing the use of single-use plastic bottles at our events.

Help to build a brighter future for homeless young people!

To keep event fees affordable, the entry cost solely covers the expenses of organising this event. Whilst there is no minimum fundraising target for Fun Run participants, we encourage and hope that you will be inspired to raise funds for us.

All money raised from our 2024 challenge events will go towards our Life Change Fund set up to help transform young lives in East Surrey.

Last year with your help we raised £80k to acquire and fund the new Y Bus. This new project will offer a mobile YMCA reaching out to areas in need to provide vital services such as detached youth work, play, sport and physical activity.

This year, the Life Change Fund will support our youth housing projects. Currently, 1 in 52 young people are homeless or at risk of homelessness in the UK.*
* CentrePoint Youth Homelessness Databank

In 2024, we will be opening a new move-on accommodation for 6 young people in Redhill. We are aiming to raise £100k through challenge events towards refurbishment costs as well as furniture for individual bedrooms and communal areas.

Your fundraising will help to create a nurturing environment that truly feels like home. Join us in making a difference and opening the doors to a brighter future for young people.

The main adult race follows a 5 mile loop around country lanes to the west of Reigate before returning to the finish at the start point in Priory Park with a water station en route. The 1 Mile races use the same start and finish as the 5 mile but stay within the park following a flat route including a clockwise lap of the pond. Free refreshments are available for all runners.
