Y2Y North Downs Trek / Run

Walk it or run it, but don’t miss it!
The Y2Y North Downs Trek/Run will follow the North Downs Way along the beautiful Surrey countryside. Choose between a 26.2 mile Marathon (starting in Guildford) or a 14 mile route (from Ranmore Common) with both routes finishing at YMCA East Surrey in Redhill. Each distance is well-marked with stunning views, undulating landscapes and occasional challenging hills.
Transport to the starting points from Redhill by our volunteer support crew by minibus is also included. We will provide free refreshments at support stops en route as well as showers, changing, parking, cake and coffee at the finish. Each route will have experienced leaders/backmarkers for navigational support. This event is open to ages 18+.
Entry cost
£25
Includes commemorative medal, technical t-shirt, transport to start and three support stops for the full marathon route (incl. bacon roll halfway, plus teas, coffees, energy drinks and a variety of snacks). The 14 mile route has one support stop en route and starts at the marathon halfway point.

Training
We have a selection of free training walks and runs organised to help you get ready for your challenge. All are welcome to attend, whether you are booked on a YMCA Challenge Event or not.
Fundraising - help the Y-Bus take to the road!
Whilst there is no minimum fundraising target for this event, we would ask that you consider fundraising to help transform young lives in East Surrey.
All money raised from 2024 challenge events will go towards our Life Change Fund set up to help transform young lives in East Surrey.
This year, we are aiming to fund a new ‘Y-Bus’ – a mobile youth club on wheels to reach young people in areas where there is little or no youth provision. Our trained YMCA youth workers will use the bus to provide an informal setting for activities and discussion, as well as provide signposting to other services if needed.
